Ms. Hayden has been trained in treating transgender issues by The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists. She is a member of the Society for Clinical Social Workers and is affiliated with the Association for Clinical Self-Psychology. She works with fetishes, transgendered, transexual, and people in the BDSM scene. Ms. Hayden has been interviewed as a sex addiction expert on both Lifetime Live and The Jenny Jones Show. Ms. Hayden has appeared on "The Learning Channel" as an expert on the chemistry and psychology of erotic pain. She has also been interviewed on the video Out of the Shadows: A New Look at S&M. She writes an ongoing advice column called "The Black Leather Couch" for Prometheus magazine and her articles appear on the website www.sexuality.org. In addition, she is a contributing writer for the soon-to-be released "The Sex Book", published by Cassell & Co. Ms. Hayden is a prominent lecturer on the psychology of male sexual masochism in both the therapeutic community and in the New York S&M community.
